Bridal Make Up by Arabella for Dark and Stormy styled shoot Wedding

On a beautifully sunny day in June, I hopped into my car and journeyed to The Pond in Brighton. There I met my talented friend Emily of Emily Dall Flowers. Em designed the most beautiful styled shoot, the theme was Dark and Stormy, bringing together the most excellent creatives. I absolutely loved this shoot and what we created together. For the makeup I wanted to keep Brooke’s skin fresh and matte, with a subtle glow. I prepped Brooke’s skin with Bioderma Micellar Water, Pixi Glow Tonic, Embroylisse moisturiser and Illamasqua’s hydra veil primer. I used MAC’s Face and Body foundation with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, finished with Charlotte Tillbury’s Airbrush Powder to set the make up. To add colour and glow to Brooke’s skin, I used MAC Warm Soul blush, Hush highlighter and Bobbi Brown’s Golden Light bronzer.

On Brooke’s eyes, I used Tom Ford’s cocoa mirage eye palette to create a soft velvety eye, finished with individual lashes and liner for added definition.

I mixed a few lip colours (but predominately D for Danger by MAC) to make a bespoke deep plummy lip, taking inspiration from those beautiful peonies that were in her hair.

I started off by prepping Brooke’s hair with Percy and Reed’s Abundantly Bouncy Volumising mouse and L’Oreal Techni. Art Pli spray. I used my trusty GHD wand to create soft loose curls and backcombed the hair to give volume and height. The focal feature of the hair was those big beautiful blousy blooms, so I kept the hair soft and relaxed to complement the flowers. I finished the style with a spritz of Bumble and Bumble Dry spun Texturising Spray and added volume with a touch of Bumble and Bumble’s Pret-a-Powder.

This was such a fun and rewarding day – I loved working collaboratively with such clever and talented creatives. Thanks so much for having me! I loved it all.
