Hi chums,
I hope you’re all fine and dandy. Last May, I worked with the incredibly talented make up artist Carolanne Armstrong on Georgie’s stunning Hampshire marquee wedding. I styled the hair for Georgie’s beautiful bridesmaids and when I saw these gorgeous photos of the wedding morning by Rupert Marlow, I couldn’t wait to share them with you all!
the bridesmaids
I met each bridesmaid for the first time on the wedding morning and they told me their ideas. Each of the girls wanted their hair to look soft and relaxed but still styled and ‘done’. The bridesmaids were all in matching navy dresses (such a classy and timeless colour theme) with white bouquets. Two of the bridesmaids were twins and the girls had all known each other since school! One of the bridesmaids, Grace, had flown in from New York for the wedding. With all that history between them, there were some excellent stories shared on the wedding morning!
hair inspiration
Georgie, the bride, was super relaxed and had no specific brief of how their hair should be done, as long as they were all happy. I styled each of the bridesmaids with soft curls in their hair and gentle volume in the crown of their hair. I tailored each of the styles to suit their hair length and texture. Most of the bridesmaids decided to have their hair styled half up, half down, with a braid or twist detail. I used Bumble and Bumble’s Prêt-à-Powder (it’s gives soft volume and grip to the hair) and Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray to finish the hair (it gives a matte, beachy finish to curls) when styling the hair. These two products have become absolute staples in my kit, I love them!
Carolanne worked her magic with the bridesmaids’ make up so they looked fresh and flawless, with focus on their eyes. Overall they just looked gorgeous!
I shall leave you with Rupert’s brilliant photos of the wedding morning – the girls look so relaxed but I think it’s easy to see how much fun was had!
Until next time, cheerio chums! x
