I’ve worked with Guy Collier a few times in the last couple of years, but I never get tired of seeing his beautiful photos. I love the way he really captures the mood of the wedding morning so it totally transports you back to the day.
Today I’m sharing his brilliant photos of Jess and Alex’s wedding at Cowdray House. I’ve done a few weddings at the Walled Gardens at Cowdray but this was my first experience of Cowdray House and it was stunning. I’m not kidding, it stunned me. The room (which came with the most enormous ensuite bathroom and dressing room) where we were getting the bridal party ready, was incredibly luxurious and opulent with stunning views of the grounds from every window.

On Jess’ wedding morning I was working with my fellow make-up artist pal Sarah Stacey, and I was in charge of the bridesmaids’ hair. Jess had five glorious bridesmaids who all had different hair lengths, colours and textures. Jess was really chilled and had no specific brief on how the bridesmaids should wear their hair. Each bridesmaid came to my hair chair with their various ideas and inspiration and so the magic of creating began. Each bridesmaid was in a dress that was the same dusky pink but it has several different ways of being done up, so you can tailor the dress to fit your own individual style. Winner. The hairstyles I created all had a relaxed softness to them; some incorporated plaits and twists, some were simple chignons. All of them looked effortless and chic and complemented Jess’ bridal style beautifully.
I had such a fun morning with Sarah, Jess and her bridesmaids and I think you can tell from Guy’s storytelling how much we all laughed.
